How to Use Google Cloud Credits

Quick Answer

Google Cloud credits apply automatically against your GCP bill as you use services. Once your credit account is active, simply create a project and deploy resources — Compute Engine, Vertex AI, BigQuery, or Cloud Storage — and the credit reduces your invoice until it's exhausted.

Activating and checking credits

After receiving your GCP account, log in to the Cloud Console and check the Billing section to confirm your promotional credit balance. Create a project and link it to the billing account so credit applies to everything you deploy.

Spending credit efficiently

Credit applies across nearly all GCP services. To stretch it, use preemptible/spot VMs for non-critical work, right-size your instances, and set budget alerts. Vertex AI, BigQuery, and Compute Engine are all credit-eligible.

Monitoring usage

Use the Billing dashboard to track how fast credit is being consumed, and configure budget alerts so you know before it runs low. This keeps your projects running smoothly without unexpected interruptions.
